Jochen Rindt Trophy Race 2023
Named after Austrian driver Jochen Rindt, the only posthumous F1 world champion in 1970. The BARC (British Automobile Racing Club) instigated the JRT to be a memorial trophy in his honour. The first JRT was won in 1971 by Graham Hill (his teammate at Lotus in 1970). Since then, the JRT has been run periodically for special races with the blessing of the BARC. 2021 saw the event given a new lease of life being run by the Classic Racing Car Club. 2022 saw the event grow in stature to provide some of the best racing seen at Thruxton for years. In 2023 the JRT is again to be a multi-class event comprising; one 20 minute qualifying session and two twenty minute races for single seat race cars upto 2000cc, to celebrate the spirit of Thruxton in the 1960’s 70’s & 80’s. Where possible, the cars will be run in their original liveries to further enhance the historical significance of the celebration. Entry form available by clicking the ‘JRT Entry Form’ tab at the top of this page.
